Using Kerberos Client at MIT
KClient allows your workstation to obtain
Kerberos tickets for authentication purposes.
About KClient
KClient is an application written at Cornell
University and maintained by the Mandarin
Consortium, a group of universities to which MIT
belongs. It is used to provide Kerberos authentication
on Macintoshes and PCs.

Downloading the Kerberos (KClient) Installer
KClient is available for the following platforms:
- Macintosh - kinstall.hqx Kerberos Installer r
1.1 (Macintosh binhex format). Once you have downloaded this installer
double click on it to install KClient version 1.6.2 configured for use
at MIT.
- Macintosh - kinstall.bin Kerberos Installer r
1.1 (MacBinary II+ format). Once you have downloaded this installer
double click on it to install KClient version 1.6.2 configured for use
at MIT.
- Windows - KClient
for Windows is no longer available from this web page but may be downloaded
from the /pub/dos directory
of MIT's net-dist
server.
Installing KClient
After you download the installer you need to do the following:
- Macintosh
Double click on the installer and follow the directions.
- Windows
Download KClient from the /pub/dos
directory of MIT's net-dist
server and follow the accompanying directions.
